Human Rights & Modern Slavery Policy

Respecting the rights of all who work for, with and in connection with us.

The Studio*Collaborative is committed to ethical conduct and operates our business in compliance with local regulations. We believe in supporting a more transparent supply chain to combat modern slavery, respecting the rights of all who work for and in connection with us.

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships.

In preparing this document, we have used the guidance of the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) as published in their report “Property, Construction and Modern Slavery. Practical Responses for Managing Risk to People” (2020).

The Studio* Collaborative operates in Australia and New Zealand only. We currently do not meet thresholds that require us to respond to Modern Slavery legislation directly.

We do not believe that we undertake any high risk activities as an organisation.

Supply Chain

The Studio* Collaborative is a provider of professional design consultancy services and as such our supply chain is limited to providers of consultancy services, utilities, office supplies, and communication/ IT services. We undertake due diligence when considering new suppliers and reviewing existing suppliers.

As part of our service offering, The Studio* Collaborative can make third party supplier recommendations to clients. We request all suppliers provide us with evidence of compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2018(cth) and/or the AHRC and have integrated this as a checklist into our Specification Schedules.

The Studio* Collaborative may from time-to-time utilise sub-consultants in support of our interior consultancy services. These sub-contractors are reviewed to ensure they are not deemed high risk and are  typically Australian based consultancy companies. Moving forward, we will request sub-consultants to provide details of their supply chain to enable us to comply with our own obligations.

Operations

Our staff and consultants are our main suppliers. We comply with all applicable labour laws and have policies and management practices to support our people in complying with these laws.

Our employee contracts contain clauses that outline their Modern Slavery and Human Rights obligations including for a statement supporting whistleblowing.

Training

Our employees have been made aware of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking, and our policies have been updated as set out above.
